Frankie Vaughan began his career in theatre doing variety song and dance during the late 1940s, subsequently going on to become one of the country's biggest stars during the 1950s. At the start of the following decade, he moved into films, appearing in Let's Make Love with Marilyn Monroe.
Whilst many of his recordings were cover versions of American hits, Frankie managed to inject enough of his own style to make them almost universally associated with him alone. His signature tune, Give Me The Moonlight Give Me The Girl was recorded in 1955 but never released as a single, although it is included here. This 20 track compilation also features Green Door, a #2 hit in 1956, along with five other chart hits Frankie enjoyed between 1954 and 1956.
